Mission
The South Bay Watercolor Society (SBWS) seeks to promote art in the South Bay, educate artists and to stimulate the exploration of contemporary watermedia techniques used in experimental and expressive styles.

Origins
The SBWS evolved from the 1990 San Pedro Angels Gate exhibition, New Directions in Watercolor. Featured artists Ed Cardinali, Virginia Caviness, Kathleen Dawson, Pat Dispenziere and Tracy Reid served as steering committee and executive board for the SBWS’s first year.
