Mission
The South Bay Watercolor Society (SBWS) seeks to promote art in the South Bay area of Los Angeles County, educate its members and stimulate the exploration of watermedia techniques employed in experimental and expressive styles and well as continuing to foster traditional styles. |
Origins
The SBWS evolved from the 1990 San Pedro Angels Gate exhibition, New Directions in Watercolor. Featured artists Ed Cardinali, Virginia Caviness, Kathleen Dawson, Pat Dispenziere and Tracy Reid served as steering committee and executive board for the SBWS’s first year. |
